THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP
A Charles Ludlam’s parody directed by Evangelos Alexiou and Christos Alexandridis.

Two male actors play the British couple, servants Jane Twisden and Nicodemus Underwood,werewolf, a mummy, a vampire, and more. With lighting-quick costumes changes and razor-sharp comic timing, the
wicked spoof is sure to be a howlingly funny night” at the Theatre.

The Mystery of Irma Vep was performed with great success in Greece continually for two years 1999-2001 at Ivi Theater. The play was translated and produced by Lakis Lazopoulos, and directed by Konstantino Arvanitaki. It received raving reviews from the Greek media.

The play will look through the eyes of Horatio, taken from Hamlets last words to Horatio: “Oh God, Horatio, what a wounded name, Things standing thus unknown, shall I leave behind me! If thou didst ever hold me in thy heart, Absent thee from felicity awhile and in this harsh world draw thy breath in pain to tell my story. I die, Horatio! The rest is silence.”

The play «THE STORK BRING THE BABYS or Ta mora ta fernei o pelargos»
is unique at the Greek theater history for one main reason: It’s the first play that talks about the extermination of the Greek Jewish Community of Thessaloniki by the Nazis. Thessaloniki was home to about 50,000 Jews before World War II, making it Greece’s biggest Jewish community. Most of them were-killed after the Nazis deported them to concentration camps in eastern Europe.
Although the play talks about a tragic event of History, is not a drama but a black comedy which it’s best element is the extraordinary balance that maintain between the drama of the Jew people and the situation comedy.
